   # A premium digital experience for more than 80 million travellers

In 2025 Dubai International (DXB) welcomed 95.2 million international passengers. To deliver a fast, accessible and consistent digital experience for travellers worldwide, Dawn Technology partnered with design agency KOOS to develop a completely redesigned, mobile-first digital platform.

**Discovery**## Building a digital experience for a global audience

The existing website no longer met the expectations of today's travellers. Navigation had become increasingly complex, the user experience lacked consistency and the platform was not optimised for mobile devices. In addition, the new website needed to comply with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards while supporting both English and Arabic.

This introduced a unique technical challenge. While the English version follows a traditional left-to-right (LTR) layout, the Arabic version requires a fully mirrored right-to-left (RTL) interface. Not only the language changes, but the entire page structure and visual layout must adapt seamlessly. Both experiences needed to be maintained from a single, scalable codebase.

**Design & development**## One flexible front-end architecture for two writing directions

Dawn Technology developed the complete front-end of the new website. Together with design partner [KOOS](https://koos.agency/nl/), we transformed the new visual designs into semantic HTML templates, responsive CSS and interactive JavaScript components using a mobile-first approach.

To ensure future-proof multilingual support, we first created a Proof of Concept for a dynamic layout system capable of automatically switching between LTR and RTL based on the selected language. This allowed both language versions to share the same front-end architecture without maintaining separate codebases.

The solution was built using modern technologies including Astro as a Static Site Generator, Tailwind CSS, vanilla JavaScript and Git-based collaboration. Static templates were delivered through a shared development environment and integrated by the international development teams into the Sitefinity CMS.

The project was delivered by an international Scrum team consisting of designers from KOOS in Amsterdam, front-end developers from Dawn Technology, back-end developers in Bulgaria, product owners and testers in India, and stakeholders from [Dubai International (DXB)](https://dubaiairports.ae/). Close collaboration across disciplines and time zones ensured a smooth delivery process and consistent quality throughout the project.

**Conclusion**## A future-ready platform designed to improve the passenger experience

The result is a future-ready airport website that reflects Dubai International’s (DXB) premium brand while meeting the needs of a global audience. An improved information architecture, mobile optimisation, accessibility-focused design and seamless multilingual support create a more intuitive digital experience for passengers across devices and languages.

With a scalable front-end architecture in place, DXB can continue to optimise the passenger experience and respond to future digital needs.

## Maintaining an aircraft engine with AI

Did you know that a single aircraft engine contains around 4,800 precision bolts? Each of these bolts requires regular maintenance to ensure flight safety. KLM Engineering & Maintenance is responsible for this process. In collaboration with DZB Leiden, the bolts are washed, inspected, and resorted. But how do you sort 4,800 bolts quickly, accurately, and efficiently? That’s where Dawn Technology came in.

## Vitens opts for future-proof water analysis

Vitens supplies clean and safe drinking water to millions of people in the Netherlands every day. To ensure the quality of this water, Dawn Technology, in collaboration with Vitens, developed a future-proof software system that reliably evaluates, verifies, and reports laboratory results, ranging from “target” analyses to advanced “non-target” screening.
