# Oases: Interactive Modelling Software for Process and Compliance Management

Strukton Rail wanted to replace its outdated modelling software with a modern, dynamic solution. Dawn Technology developed Oases: an interactive platform that provides insight into business processes while seamlessly integrating compliance into daily operations.

**Discovery**## From a Static System to a Dynamic Standard

Strukton Rail’s existing modelling software was over fifteen years old, built on an outdated Oracle database and difficult to extend. Only a small group of specialists could effectively work with the system. The organisation needed a future-proof solution that was user-friendly, open-source and fully under its own control.

The new platform also needed to go beyond traditional process modelling. Strukton wanted a compliance matrix that could clearly connect requirements, regulations and solutions, alongside interactive diagrams that visualise the relationships between business processes.

As Strukton Rail’s trusted technology partner, Dawn Technology was the natural choice for the project. Our structured, iterative approach and transparent communication around budget, scope and progress provided the confidence needed to completely modernise this business-critical system.

**Design & development**## Technical Innovation with Human Logic

Oases was developed as an open-source platform that enables users to easily model, edit and analyse processes, resources and tooling.

We selected proven technologies such as the Symfony PHP framework for scalability and maintainability, and the JavaScript library Raphaël for dynamic vector graphics in the browser. The result is a fully interactive editor that allows users to drag, add, remove and modify elements with ease. The experience is intuitive for end users while being powered by a robust technical foundation.

Today, Oases serves as the central knowledge platform within Strukton Rail. Internally, it is used for process improvement initiatives, operational analysis and training programmes. Externally, certification bodies use the platform during audits to assess compliance and process maturity.
