   # CBS Jeugdmonitor: An Accessible Data Platform with User-Friendly Tables

The Netherlands Statistics Office (CBS) wanted to modernise the Youth Monitor, an online platform that presents statistics and insights about young people in the Netherlands. Dawn Technology developed the new website: accessible, intuitive and fully optimised for mobile use.

**Discovery**## New Requirements for Modern Data Presentation

The original Youth Monitor was strong in content but technologically outdated and not suitable for mobile users. Commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS), CBS set out to create a new, future-proof platform.

The key requirements were clear: comply with government branding guidelines and accessibility standards, present statistical information in a clear and engaging way, and improve navigation and usability for visitors.

Dawn Technology was selected based on a successful track record with CBS, including the development of the corporate news platform and the Long-Term Care Monitor.

**Design & development**## Clear Structure and Intelligent Data Tables

The overall structure of the website had already been defined. The challenge lay in execution, planning and user experience. We delivered a detailed project plan with a short yet realistic timeline and developed the platform in full compliance with government accessibility requirements and design standards.

A key feature of the project was the development of a flexible table module within the CMS. This allows editors to easily add, remove or hide columns without any technical knowledge. At the same time, all tables remain responsive and highly readable across desktops, tablets and mobile devices.

The result is a content management experience that is both powerful and easy to use, while ensuring visitors always have access to clear and well-structured data.

**Conclusie**## Accessible, Up-to-Date and Easy to Use

The new Jeugdmonitor provides policymakers, researchers and citizens with direct access to reliable insights into the lives of young people in the Netherlands. The website is visually more appealing, more approachable and fully accessible for mobile users.

CBS values Dawn Technology’s clear communication, customer-focused approach and commitment to quality. The result is a modern data platform that makes information easier to explore, understand and use for research and policymaking.
