Knowledge is the lifeblood of education and science. Its digitalization is a key priority of SURF. The digital infrastructure, which must serve many different institutions, must constantly evolve and remain secure.
From the start, SURF has found the external expertise it needs in us. This includes SURFmedia: the extensive, on-demand and live-streaming service used by approximately 160 educational and research institutions to share videos. For example, we developed eduID, an identity app granting secure access to protected systems.
We also advised on optimal search technology within SURF’s databases and developed several proofs of concepts for this purpose. For an international collaboration platform for lecturers and scientists, we contributed to infrastructure, architecture, interface, and integrations.

CRUSE Control is the reference self-evaluation app for chronic urticaria, built by Dawn Technology together with the Charité Institute of Allergology and the international UCARE network. Over 20,000 patients across 38 countries use the application daily to track symptoms and prepare for clinic visits. Dawn Technology integrated a reliable AI assistant into the app to safely and accurately answer patient questions based exclusively on approved medical sources.
