# Talk to Pathé: cinema experiences through voice

Pathé is the largest cinema chain in the Netherlands and a frontrunner in digital innovation. Dawn Technology helped Pathé make movie discovery and ticket booking more accessible by developing an intuitive voice app for Google Assistant.

**Discover**## From searching to speaking

Discovering movies and booking tickets traditionally required a website or app. Functional, but always screen-based. Pathé wanted to offer a more relaxed and intuitive alternative, fitting naturally into how people experience entertainment at home.

The challenge was clear: enable users to discover movies, check showtimes and plan cinema visits using natural language, without fixed commands, while seamlessly integrating with existing Pathé platforms.

**Design & Development**## Smart conversations, built for people

We designed and developed the Pathé voice app for Google Assistant, with Charlie as the virtual guide. The solution was built using Dialogflow, allowing users to ask questions in everyday language about movies, cinemas, showtimes and tickets.

Natural Language Processing enables Charlie to understand variations in phrasing, rather than relying on exact commands. By using example sentences and contextual learning, the voice app continuously improves. Integration with Pathé’s existing systems ensures that watchlists and preferences are instantly available across web and app environments.

The Pathé voice app removes barriers between inspiration and action. Movie lovers can explore films, save favourites and plan their cinema visit without picking up a device. For Pathé, this voice solution adds a future-proof interaction channel that enhances the overall movie experience.
